Stage One PETERBOROUGH. 6.1 miles of river bank, farm drove & public road from Peterborough Cathedral, crossing on the new footbridge over the River Nene & entering the back of the Manor Leisure Centre, Whittlesey near Briggate Lock.(Probably the easiest of the stages) Showers and toilets at Manor Leisure Centre, but parking in town - 200metres. Sunshine Cafe in town centre open from 8 am. Stage Two WHITTLESEY. 11.6 miles of ever-changing terrain, through the hamlet of Turves, and along the river bank entering March at Fox's Marina & changing over in the park, by the beacon, near the George Campbell Leisure Centre, March. (Not too demanding, but the longest stage). Refreshments at Young People March adjacent to large car park near police station. Stage Three MARCH. 10.3 miles incorporating the picturesque Nene Parade & some of the best agricultural land in the country, through Christchurch village, past the Lamb and Flag pub to Welney village hall. (Hot dogs available!!). Toilets only and car parking limited. Please park and walk. Stage Four WELNEY. 9.6 miles of road, track and possibly very muddy in Bishops Way. Take great care when crossing unmanned railway line. Coming off the Bishops Way onto Golf Course perimeter and entering into football field. Go right then anti-clockwise around field and finish by the cannon in front of the football stand. (Measured by GPS).
