CLUB CONSTITUTION

1 TITLE : MARCH ATHLETIC CLUB

2 AFFILIATIONS : Cambridgeshire Athletic Association and England Athletics

3 OBJECT : To promote amateur athletics

4 MANAGEMENT of the club is vested in a committee consisting of the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and up to ten other members, all to be elected annually, five to form a quorum. The committee has the power to fill any vacancy that may arise

5 MEMBERSHIP applications must be on a form provided for the purpose, to be considered at the next committee meeting

6 RESIGNATION from the club must be by written notice to the Secretary, and membership will terminate on the date of that notice unless the member is indebted to the club. The committee may withold acceptance of the resignation until any liability is discharged. A member not having resigned before 1 February will be liable for the ensuing year’s subscription

7 ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS will be as agreed at the Annual General Meeting, payable on joining and subsequently on 1 January in each year. The committee has the power to expel any member whose subscription is six months in arrears, provided a month’s notice is sent to the member. The name and address of any member so expelled will be sent to England Athletics. NO MEMBER WHOSE SUBSCRIPTION IS IN ARREARS IS ELIGIBLE TO TAKE PART IN ANY COMPETITION PROMOTED BY THE CLUB

8 The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be held in the spring, to receive the committee’s report and financial statement, elect officers and committee and deal with any other matter specified on the agenda. The Secretary must give members 21 days notice of the meeting. Notice of any business which members wish to place on the agenda must be given to the Secretary at least 14 days prior to the meeting

9 A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING must be called by the Secretary within 14 days of receipt of a requisition signed by 10 members, stating the business to be brought before the meeting. Notice of any such meeting and the business to be dealt with must be given to members at least 7 days prior to the meeting. No other business will be dealt with at that meeting

10 ALTERATION OR ADDITION TO THIS CONSTITUTION may be made only by an Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting called for that purpose.
